Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is seeking an Assembler IV - 1st Shift to join the El Paso, TX team. The role focuses on wiring, assembling, fitting, and mounting subassemblies in electrical control equipment, and performing test prep and final inspection.

The position requires one of three qualifications and includes eligibility for a variable incentive plan. The schedule is 7:00am-3:45pm, with local benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1 year of electrical wiring experience
• A completed technical degree in a related field
• Connectors I & II certifications AND 1 year of experience as an Assembler III

Responsibilities

• Assemble switchboards' electrical wiring and subassemblies according to drawings and wiring schematics.
• Perform wiring and assembly for test preparation and final inspection.
• Maintain quality and cleanliness; follow 5-S and safety procedures.
• Lift up to 35 lbs and assist with other assigned tasks.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.66 per hour.

This position is also eligible for a variable incentive plan.

Shift: 7:00am-3:45pm

Position Overview

The Assembler IV is responsible for a wide range of skills including wiring, assembling, fitting, and mounting subassemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment. Perform assembly or wiring required for test preparation and final inspection. Perform all assignments within the acceptable quantity and perfect quality requirements in keeping with assigned functions.

In This Function You Will

• Perform the assigned function from oral and/or written instructions, drawings, and wiring schematics.
• Use various tools, such as wire strippers, crimpers, wire cutters, impact guns, drills, and pliers to assemble switchboards' electrical wiring.
• Handle materials following established procedures.
• Maintain expected progress of jobs in the area of assignment and communicate problem areas or parts shortages.
• Observe good housekeeping and safety procedures and keep equipment, tools, and work area clean and orderly by performing 5-S duties and continued dedication to raising the bar.
• Lift 35 lbs. with reasonable accommodation as required.
• Perform other functions and/or tasks as assigned
• Flexing into other functions of the business

Qualifications

Required:

• Must meet ONE of the following qualifications:
  • 1 year of electrical wiring experience OR
  • A completed technical degree in a related field OR
  • Connectors I & II certifications AND 1 year of experience as an Assembler III

Preferred

• 2+ years of wiring experience
• 2+ years of assembly experience
• Experience working in wiring assembly

• Willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs.
• Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SharePoint.
• Must work somewhat independently and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
• You will contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
