Job summary

Badger Meter Inc is seeking an Assembler III to join our manufacturing team in a hands-on role focused on complex assembly, testing, and continuous improvement. You will train junior staff and support on-boarding, with leadership opportunities as you grow into higher-level roles.

The position emphasizes safety, root-cause investigations, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, and planning teams to deliver quality products efficiently.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years manufacturing/assembly experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead safety, quality and process-improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Perform advanced assembly, soldering, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair functions.
  • Serve as a certified trainer and mentor for Assembler I and II employees.
  • Support onboarding, qualification, and cross-training activities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and technical resource.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Drive 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with engineering, quality, planning, and production teams.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors consistent with future Lead, Technician, Coordinator, or Supervisor roles.

What You Will Contribute:

The Assembler III serves as an advanced manufacturing technician and departmental subject matter expert responsible for assembling complex products, troubleshooting issues, training team members, and supporting continuous improvement. Demonstrates mastery of all Assembler I and II responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

High School Degree/GED Preferred 3+ years of experience in assembly/manufacturing desired

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years manufacturing/assembly experience preferred.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a Manufacturing environment. Depending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds and complete an audiogram test.
  • Those working in the Aerospace department must be able to pass a Vision, Color Vision, and Depth perception test.
  • This position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina. Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
