Qualifications

  • Typically requires 1–2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Able to interpret SWADs, production orders and quality checklists.
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds and use PPE as required.
  • Must operate hand tools and fixtures safely.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical and mechanical components and sub-assemblies according to SWADs.
  • Pack products while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • Water Spider: move inventory, stock bins and cardboard as needed.
  • Build final product and collaborate with manufacturing engineers.
  • Follow safety guidelines and use PPE during tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair assemblies when necessary.

With an environment that encourages and assists each person in developing to their highest potential, a career at A-dec is incredibly rewarding.OverviewThe Assembler II performs both routine and semi-routine assembly tasks which include sub-assemblies, assembling some final products, packaging, water spider, and checks parts for quality and function.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs routine assembly tasks, working independently with the aid of standard work assembly drawings (SWADs), such as:Assembles electrical and mechanical components and any additional routine sub-assemblies.Packages products while maintaining quality and productivity standards.Water Spider (inventory movement support): facilitates workflow, including stocking bins, pallets, cardboard, and general material handling.Builds final product. Works with area manufacturing engineers (ME’s)Frequently operates tools/equipment such as hand tools, pneumatics tools, testing equipment, fixtures, and high voltage dielectric testing while using required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines.Routinely follows work and test instructions to perform tasks. May be required to interpret the results of certain tests and at times may troubleshoot and repair assemblies as necessary.Achieves and maintains established safety, quality, and productivity standards. Must not pose a risk to self or others.Assembler II is in the process of learning to build an entire product or line and may train less experienced Assemblers.QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust be able to read, write, and communicate in English with a demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions.Must possess basic computer skills.Able to perform basic math calculations.Must be able to troubleshoot problems when necessary.Must be able to operate the required hand tools and fixtures.Able to interpret standard work assembly drawings (SWAD), production order paperwork, test instructions, and quality checklists.Education and ExperienceTypically requires 1-2 years of manufacturing experience.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis. Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively. Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift.
