Job summary

Universal Instruments seeks an assembly technician for a full-time, 2nd shift role. You will assemble basic parts and sub-assemblies in a climate-controlled, self-paced environment, Monday through Friday, 3:00pm–11:30pm.

You will use hand tools, read blueprints, and assist with testing of sub-assemblies as needed. The position requires a high school diploma with 1–3 years of relevant experience, strong tool skills, detail orientation, and solid documentation abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1–3 years of relative assembly experience.
• Experience with tools such as Allen and ratchet wrenches, torque wrenches, measuring tools.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics and document results clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and reliable work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts according to procedures, process sheets, or other docs.
• Use hand tools including screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and assembly aids.
• May perform intermediate testing of sub-assemblies prior to final assembly.

NOTE: This is a full-time, 2nd shift onsite position from Monday through Friday each week, beginning at 3:00pm and ending at 11:30pm.

Summary:

This role will be assembling basic parts and sub-assemblies in a clean, climate controlled, self-paced work environment.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Assemble parts according to assembly procedures, process sheets, and/or other relevant documentation.
• Utilize hand tools including screwdrivers, torque drivers and assembly aids.
• May perform intermediate level testing of sub-assemblies prior to final assembly.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of relative experience.
• Experience and aptitude with tools such as allen wrenches, ratchet wrenches, measuring tools, torque wrenches, scales, meters, and gauges.
• Notable experience working with technical drawings, blueprints and/or schematics.
• Technical aptitude for database navigation, information management and record keeping.
• Reads, writes and communicates effectively via email, documentation and with colleagues.
• Dependable and possesses an excellent work ethic.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to access and manipulate various objects and tools.
• The employee may occasionally move heavy objects.
