Job summary

Goldshield in Decatur, Indiana, manufactures fiberglass parts and is part of Terex Corporation. A Cutting and Grinding Associate will cut fiberglass parts to size and grind them to thickness, ensuring quality and safety on the production floor.

You will use and maintain cutting/grinding tools, follow safety rules, and support other production tasks to meet daily goals. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime as needed; benefits start on day one.

Qualifications

• Preferred 1-year experience in manufacturing, fiberglass cutting, grinding, or production.
• Preferred high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to complete required Goldshield training certification.
• Ability to safely use cut/grind tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow directions, maintain attendance expectations, and meet production standards.

Responsibilities

• Cut fiberglass parts to the correct size and grinding them to required thickness specifications.
• Perform cut and grind functions while meeting quality and quantity standards.
• Using and maintaining tools, equipment, and jigs properly.
• Following plant safety rules and keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Supporting other tasks or jobs as needed to meet production goals.

Since 1982, Goldshield has set the bar in the fiberglass industry. Our facility is located in Decatur, Indiana, where we manufacture fiberglass parts for Fleetwood, Honda, and Daimler. Goldshield also manufactures fiberglass for school buses, emergency vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.

A day in the life of a Cutting and Grinding Associate at Goldshield:

• Cutting fiberglass parts to the correct size and grinding them to required thickness specifications.

Required Education, Skills, And Experience To Be Successful

• Ability to safely use cut/grind tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow directions, maintain attendance expectations, and meet production standards.
• Successful completion of the drug and background screening.

• Ability to work around constant noise levels of approximately 80 dB.
• Ability to work around styrene vapor of 50 ppm or less.
• Ability to work with exposure to resin, acetone, gun flush, catalyst, and fiberglass dust.
• Ability to stand, move, bend, and use tools throughout the shift.
