Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a hands-on assembler to set up and operate multiple forming and finishing cells in Manitowoc, WI. The role requires reading blueprints, using precision instruments, and ensuring quality through testing and visual inspections.

You will work with a team to diagnose issues, perform minor repairs, and participate in Lean and 5S initiatives while adhering to safety standards in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Prior machine set-up experience preferred.
  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Sound decision making skills.
  • Good math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Able to maintain continuous mental, visual and audio attention.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Able to use precision measuring instruments (bevel protractor, micrometers, calipers, scales).

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate all working cell equipment: Wauseon forming, Hole punch, Benders, Crimpers, Ink jet printing.
  • Conduct and evaluate destructive testing with visual checks to adjust setup for quality parts.
  • Identify, analyze, and evaluate machine and material problems.
  • Make minor adjustments and repairs to equipment and machines; troubleshoot as needed.
  • Participate in department team projects and Lean/5S initiatives.
  • Additional duties may be assigned; follow safety regulations and report any hazards.

Position Summary

Set up and operate assembly equipment including benders, crimpers and forming equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Able to set-up and operate all working cell equipment:
    • Wauseon forming
    • Hole punch
    • Benders
    • Crimpers
    • Ink jet printing
  • Must be capable of conducting and evaluating destructive testing along with visual checks so necessary adjustments to the set-up can be made to produce a quality part.
  • Be able to identify, analyze, and evaluate machine and material problems
  • Able to make minor adjustments and repairs to equipment and machines when necessary, including effectively trouble shooting equipment issues
  • Actively participate in department team projects and activities
  • Other duties may be assigned at a later time
  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.
  • Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
