Job summary

Dover Food Retail (DFR) in South Chesterfield, Virginia, is seeking an Assembler I for the 2nd shift with an onsite work arrangement. Responsibilities

• Inspect parts or units using visual inspection, gauges, tape measures, fixtures, calipers, or similar tools.
• Perform end-of-line checks and/or repairs as needed.
• Communicate changes to assemblers, leads, or supervisors to ensure parts meet specs.
• Assist assembly teams with problem solving and process improvements.

Job Title: Assembler I - 2nd Shift

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for an Assembler I who will be responsible for working cooperatively as part of a production team to manufacture and assemble high quality Glass, Doors, Frames and Subcomponents. This position is scheduled for 3pm - 11:30pm or as business dictates before or after.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

• Responsible for the assembly or production of component parts into completed subassemblies, assemblies or completed units adhering to the assembly traveler/standard work instructions.
• Inspects parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.
• Perform end of line product checks and/or repairs
• Notifies / communicates with assemblers, leads, and supervisors or upstream changes to ensure products are to specification.
• Assist assembly groups with problem solving
• Makes recommendations for in-line and subsequent checks to increase first pass yield

What are the basic qualifications?

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1 -2 years of production assembly work
