Job summary

Stryker Corporation in Portage, MI is seeking an assembler to participate in building a variety of medical devices. You will assemble components, prepare parts, follow work instructions, and document results to ensure quality and compliance.

This full-time role is onsite with a first shift from 5:45am to 2:15pm, with overtime on weekends. You must be able to lift 10–50 lbs frequently, with benefits and bonus eligibility included.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 10–50 lbs frequently; may lift 50–75 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components including sub-assemblies and electrical parts.
  • Prepare and process electrical and mechanical components for assigned product lines.
  • Follow work instructions and test procedures, and document results to meet quality requirements.
  • Meet production build rates and schedules, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Interface with manufacturing systems using computers or other electronic devices.
  • Use tools including manual and power hand tools, pneumatic tools, test equipment, presses, measuring and cutting devices.
  • Set up, work preparation, clean up, and quality assurance of own work and area.
  • Meet schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends.
  • Requires ability to lift/carry 10–50 lbs.; may rarely lift/carry 50–75 lbs.

Work Flexibility

Onsite Schedule: 1st Shift: Monday- Friday, 5:45am-2:15pm, OT 2 Saturdays per month

What you will do
  • Under general supervision, assembles components that may include sub-assemblies, manual components and electrical components and all other related components to contribute to completion of a variety of products
  • Prepare and process electrical and mechanical components for assigned product lines
  • Work from process work instructions and test procedures to complete tasks along with monitoring and recording related documentation to meet quality requirements
  • Follow production build rates, schedules and meet required cycle times
  • Interface with manufacturing systems using computers or other electronic devices as required
  • Uses a variety of tools that may include, but are not limited to: manual and power hand tools, pneumatic tools, test equipment, presses, and measuring and cutting devices
  • Responsible for set-ups, work preparation, clean up, and quality assurance of own work and work-area
  • Meet work schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends
  • Requires ability to lift/carry 10-50 lbs. on a frequent basis depending on product line, may rarely lift/carry 50-75 lbs.

Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
