Job summary

Atlas Copco Holding GmbH in Voorheesville, NY, is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to assemble and test compressors and related equipment. You will perform mechanical and electrical assembly, install wiring and piping, and conduct hydrostatic tests to ensure quality.

The role reports to the Package Manufacturing Supervisor and includes a second shift schedule. The position requires reading assembly drawings, tool experience, and crane/fork truck certification.

Qualifications

  • One year of training in the Electrical or Mechanical field or two years of equivalent experience.
  • High School Certificate of Graduation.
  • Ability to read and understand assembly and wiring drawings.
  • Experience with common hand and pneumatic tools.
  • Certification to use cranes and fork trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble compressors, blowers, and related equipment using hand tools, power tools, cranes, and fork trucks.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly work, including motor/compressor alignment, electrical box assembly, and system installation.
  • Install and connect instrument wiring, electrical components, and oil/water piping by following assembly and wiring drawings.
  • Conduct hydrostatic testing and other verification steps to ensure equipment meets quality and operational standards.
  • Follow all company safety rules and procedures, maintaining compliance with OSHA requirements and contributing to a safe work environment.
  • Work second shift: Monday through Thursday 3:00pm to 1:30am EST.
