Job summary

Medtronic in Memphis, TN is hiring for an assembler to join a dedicated, high‑performing team. The role supports day‑to‑day production and packaging of components for medical devices in a clean room environment. The 1st shift runs 6:00am–2:30pm, Monday–Friday, with possible overtime on Saturdays.

No prior experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided. Candidates must read and write in English to follow instructions and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a clean room manufacturing environment with PPE (eyewear, hair net, gowning).
  • Perform a variety of production assembly operations, from repetitive to non-repetitive tasks.
  • Follow visual aids, layouts, diagrams, schematics, and written instructions.
  • Set layouts and use various tools to prepare products.
  • Make continuity checks on work in process and completed products.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing lines per specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test assemblies under simulated conditions.
  • Operate microscopes as needed.
  • Alternate between standing and sitting during shift.

You will be a part of a dedicated, experienced, and high‑performing team at our Memphis, TN site. At this facility, the assembler role is responsible for the day‑to‑day production and packaging of components used in our medical devices.

In‑person exchanges are invaluable to our work. We’re working a minimum of 5 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross‑functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.

1st Shift: 6:00am‑2:30pm M‑F Mandatory overtime may be required on Saturdays.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • You will be working in a clean room manufacturing environment that requires you to wear personal protective equipment including eyewear, hair net and protective gowning.
  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non‑repetitive production assembly operations.
  • Works from visual aids, method layouts, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets and written or verbal assembly instructions.
  • Sets initial layouts, and uses a variety of tools to prepare product(s).
  • Make continuity checks on work in process and completed.
  • May conduct quality inspections on processing lines in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Operate microscopes as needed.
  • Alternate between standing and sitting throughout shift

Required Knowledge and Experience: No prior experience required; comprehensive training will be provided. Ability to read and write in English in order to understand work instructions, safety protocols, and communicate effectively within the team.

Nice to Have:
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing
  • Previous experience with assembly work
  • Experience working in medical device manufacturing
  • Background in automotive manufacturing or related industries
  • Strong mathematical skills for measurement and quality checks
  • Excellent hand dexterity for detailed assembly tasks
  • Willingness and flexibility to support different production areas as needed

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$36,000.00 - $54,000.00 This position is eligible for a short‑term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
