Job Description
Assemble and disassemble gas turbine components and subassemblies following established work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
- Interpret drawings, bill of materials, diagrams, schematics, and related shop documents to complete assigned work.
- Position, fit, fasten, and torque components and piping or tubing systems using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes.
- Perform basic mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, including wiring connections, conduit or tubing work, and installation of related accessories.
- Set up and disassemble test equipment and required gas, air, or hydro connections as needed.
- Verify alignment, fit, and assembly quality using standard measuring devices/tools (such as tape measure, calipers, and micrometers) and record required quality data.
- Operate material‑moving equipment such as forklifts and jib or gantry cranes, as trained.
- Identify and correct routine machining or setup issues to maintain quality and production flow.
- Contribute to team problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
- Take ownership of compliance, safety, quality, and productivity in your area of responsibility.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or electrical assembly experience using hand tools, power tools, and standard assembly equipment.
- Experience following work instructions, drawings, diagrams, schematics, or assembly documentation to complete standardized work.
- Basic experience installing, fastening, fitting, or routing mechanical and/or electrical components in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Must be capable and comfortable working in confined spaces and working at heights.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and wear required personal protective equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Successful completion of an assessment for the job class, background check, and drug screen.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this role.
Desired Skills
- Experience with gas turbine, heavy industrial, power generation, or large equipment assembly.
- Mechanical/electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with cranes, hoists, lifts, or other industrial material-handling equipment.
