Job summary

Nothum Manufacturing Company in Springfield, MO is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Assembler to build and install mechanical components for food processing systems. You will read shop prints, assemble parts to tight tolerances, and help ensure assemblies meet specifications.

Work includes standing 8–10 hours, lifting up to 50 lbs, following safety protocols, and collaborating with leads to hit production goals. High school diploma or GED and basic tool experience are required.

  • Troubleshoot and verify proper fit, function, and alignment of assemblies

  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Support production needs by performing additional duties as assigned, collaborating with leads and team members

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret shop prints and technical drawings

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Indoor manufacturing environment with seasonal temperature variations
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and machinery using electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical power
  • Standing and walking on concrete floors for 8–10 hour shifts
  • Frequent bending, stooping, crawling, reaching, and climbing
  • Lifting and carrying materials up to 50 lbs independently; team lifting required for heavier loads
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools, nuts, bolts, and equipment
  • Ability to read technical drawings and apply measurements with accuracy
  • Willingness to adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and team protocols
