Job summary

UFP Industries in Indiana is seeking an Assembler I to fabricate component parts or assemble finished products per customer specs. This role requires careful use of tools, adherence to quality standards, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

You will complete work area setup, verify materials, document production, and participate in safety and continuous improvement programs. No heavy experience required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred, and applicants must be at least 18.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• 6 months manufacturing and assembling experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Completes work area setup.
• Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and in accordance with quality standards.
• Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process.
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label, and band components finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure they are compliant with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area setup
• Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and in accordance with quality standards
• Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label, and band components finished product
