Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc in Selma, AL is seeking an Assembler I to fabricate components or assemble finished products according to customer specifications. You will secure and manage required parts and supplies for the operation. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and be at least 18.

No formal experience required; up to 6 months of manufacturing/assembly experience is preferred. Basic math skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Complete work area setup.
• Fit parts together per instructions and quality standards.
• Operate hand tools as required to complete the assembly process.
• Stack completed products per procedures; may cover, label, and band components as needed.
• Ensure work area is safe, clean and organized; verify equipment is safe to operate.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and report problems.
• Maintain production records as required.
• Check materials and finished products for quality compliance.
• Follow safety and quality procedures and participate in programs/meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area setup
• Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and in accordance with quality standards
• Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label, and band components finished product
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
• Maintains production records as required
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure they are compliant with standards
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
