Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for repairing, upgrading, reconditioning, and re-manufacturing electrical equipment ranging from a single circuit breaker to complete substations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Refurbish circuit breaker parts to a like-new condition.
2. Clean, paint, de-grease, and polish metal and insulated breaker parts.
3. Operate equipment such as sand blasters, polishers, and spray booths.
4. Experience with powder coating is beneficial.
5. Load and unload delivery trucks.
6. Palletize and prepare breakers for delivery.
7. Operate a forklift.
8. Maintain and clean equipment.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
10. Dependable transportation to and from the shop is required daily.
11. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory, as the role involves plant deliveries and pickups.

Note: Duties may be modified from time to time, and other tasks may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Ability to learn troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems and perform repairs.
2. Maintain good housekeeping in the designated work area.
3. Proficiency with measuring tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, tape measure, etc.).
4. Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits safely and perform repairs.
5. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
6. Willingness to read and study OEM manuals and technical literature.
7. Mechanical inclination; own tools are required.
8. Attention to detail, a positive attitude, team-oriented, and well-organized.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

1. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
2. Strong electrical and mechanical skills.
3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Clear written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to organize and write procedures logically and methodically.

7. Ability to work at a fast pace and in a team environment.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1. Occasional reaching overhead, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
2. Frequent walking and continuous standing.
3. Repetitive hand motions.
4. Lifting requirements include occasional lifting up to 75 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, and continuous lifting of up to 25 pounds.
