JOB DESCRIPTION
Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for repairing, upgrading, reconditioning, and re-manufacturing electrical equipment ranging from a single circuit breaker to complete substations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Refurbish circuit breaker parts to a like-new condition.
- Clean, paint, de-grease, and polish metal and insulated breaker parts.
- Operate equipment such as sand blasters, polishers, and spray booths.
- Experience with powder coating is beneficial.
- Load and unload delivery trucks.
- Palletize and prepare breakers for delivery.
- Operate a forklift.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Dependable transportation to and from the shop is required daily.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory, as the role involves plant deliveries and pickups.
Note: Duties may be modified from time to time, and other tasks may be assigned as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to learn troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems and perform repairs.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the designated work area.
- Proficiency with measuring tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, tape measure, etc.).
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits safely and perform repairs.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to read and study OEM manuals and technical literature.
- Mechanical inclination; own tools are required.
- Attention to detail, a positive attitude, team-oriented, and well-organized.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Strong electrical and mechanical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and write procedures logically and methodically.
- Good time management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work at a fast pace and in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Occasional reaching overhead, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Frequent walking and continuous standing.
- Repetitive hand motions.
- Lifting requirements include occasional lifting up to 75 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, and continuous lifting of up to 25 pounds.
