Position Overview

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6:00 am – 2:30PM) Assembler I based in Indianapolis, IN. The Assembler is responsible for performing assembly and packaging tasks required in the manufacturing process.

dormakaba is seeking a first shift (6:00 am – 2:30PM) Assembler I based in Indianapolis, IN. The Assembler is responsible for performing assembly and packaging tasks required in the manufacturing process.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary 16.00-18.00/hr. plus mandatory overtime as needed (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). $2,000 Sign-on Bonus (details provided during interview)

What You Will Do

  • Perform a variety of basic production and assembly processes by following assembly work instructions.
  • Operate various production assembly machines and may use hand tools to assemble products.
  • Visually inspect parts to quality standards as described in the quality system. Communicate any problems which arise to the supervisor/lead person.
  • Pack finished product as set forth by work instruction, including instructional sheets and any necessary hardware.
  • Will be required to cross-train and rotate on a frequent basis.
  • Meet production standards as set by department goals.
  • Follows all environmental, health, & safety (EHS) policies & procedures including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Daily 5S/housekeeping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We Require

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to use hands for seizing, holding, grasping, turning, etc. as well as fine manipulation: touching, picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • General assembly skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
