Job description

Heads Up Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assembler to join our Manufacturing team. The Assembler plays a critical role in the assembly of high-quality lighting products through precision soldering, assembly, testing, and inspection activities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and is committed to delivering quality products in a manufacturing environment.

Workdays and Hours: Our normal working hours are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday with an unpaid 30-minute lunch.

Work Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States.

What you'll do
  • Perform precise soldering of electronic components, including LEDs, resistors, capacitors, and related components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Follow assembly instructions, engineering drawings, and diagrams to ensure accurate component placement and product assembly.
  • Inspect and test soldered connections to verify quality, functionality, and compliance with specifications.
  • Operate assembly equipment and tools safely and efficiently while maintaining equipment readiness.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve assembly-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records, material usage documentation, and quality data.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience assembling electronic components in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Familiarity with through‑hole and surface‑mount soldering techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision and quality.
  • Proficiency using soldering tools, equipment, and inspection instruments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
  • Technical or vocational training in electronics, manufacturing, or soldering techniques.
  • Experience working in aerospace, aviation, electronics, or high‑reliability manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with IPC workmanship standards.
  • Experience performing visual inspections and functional testing of electronic assemblies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical or vocational training in electronics, manufacturing, or soldering techniques.
  • Experience working in aerospace, aviation, electronics, or high‑reliability manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with IPC workmanship standards.
  • Experience performing visual inspections and functional testing of electronic assemblies.
