Job summary

Rittal LLC in Urbana, OH is seeking an Assembler for the 3rd shift to join a global leader in enclosures, racks and climate control. You will assemble components per work instructions and blueprints, use hand and power tools, and perform quality checks.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork and continuous improvement, with competitive pay and a $1 shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts, plus low-cost benefits starting the month after you begin.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Familiarity with hand tools and measuring equipment is helpful.
• Computer literacy with Excel/Word is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components per work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete assembly tasks.
• Perform visual quality checks on parts and assemblies.
• Package finished products for shipment or further processing.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following 6-S and safety rules.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and meetings.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Other duties as assigned.

Primary Activities/Duties:

• Assemble components and products according to work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete assembly tasks.
• Perform visual checks to ensure parts and assemblies meet quality standards.
• Package finished products and prepare them for shipment or further processing.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 6-S and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently throughout the shift.
• Lift 25–50 pounds to waist level and up to 25 pounds above shoulder level.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing assignments.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and diagrams in English.
• Basic computer skills; ability to learn and use software systems as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Safety Requirements:

• Wear safety-toed footwear
• Safety glasses with side shields
• Hearing protection
• Other PPE as required.

Knowledge & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or assembly is a plus.
• Familiarity with hand tools, measuring equipment, and basic mechanical skills.
• Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is helpful.

Work Environment:

• Warehouse and manufacturing areas with exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, and noise.
