Job summary

GE Aerospace Terre Haute is seeking a dedicated assembler for a 3rd shift role in a two-facility site focused on complex combustors and structures for aircraft engines.

You will assemble parts, read drawings and manuals, and ensure conformance to specifications while supporting continuous LEAN improvements and a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Must identify and use power and hand tools safely.
• Read and follow procedures, build plans, and perform basic calculations.
• Demonstrate precise and detailed workmanship.
• Communicate professionally with team.
• Follow and promote safe work practices.
• Work may include shifts beyond a standard week.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts using various tools and equipment.
• Work from complex drawings, manuals and specs.
• Adhere to Operator Acceptance Procedures (OAP).
• Inspect finished products and identify defects.
• Set up, operate, adjust and troubleshoot tools and equipment.
• Use precision measuring instruments to inspect parts.
• Maintain accurate work records.
• Support team concept and learn additional duties as needed.
• Maintain 6S standards and tool control.
• Recognize process variation and maintain compliant work practices.
• Maintain productivity and meet assembly targets.
• Be willing to work outside normal hours to support needs.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assembly of details on parts utilizing various tools


• Work from complex product drawings, manuals, and specifications


• Adherence to Operator Acceptance Procedures (OAP)


• Inspect finished product and identify defects


• Set-up, operate, adjust and troubleshoot all tools and equipment used in the assembly process


• Utilizes precision measuring instruments to inspect parts


• Maintains accurate work records


• Willingness to support team concept and learn/perform other duties as required


• Maintains standards for 6S and tool control


• Recognizes process variation, adjusts accordingly while maintaining compliant work practices, and consistently produces conforming hardware


• Maintains productivity standards


• Willingness to work outside normal work hours to support assembly requirements

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED


• The qualified associate who assumes these responsibilities will be expected to:


• Understand how to identify and effectively use a variety of power and hand tools


• Read, understand and utilize procedures, detailed computerized build plans, and basic mathematical calculations


• Ability to perform precise and detailed work


• Communicate effectively and professionally with others, both written and verbal within the team


• Follow and promote safe work practices


• This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
