Job summary

Nidec is hiring an assembler in Lexington, VA to assemble fabricated parts into large subassemblies and complete units. You will test and calibrate parts to meet specifications, using basic shop math and reading wiring diagrams.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 0–2 years of related experience. You will work on first shift under supervision, following established guidelines and maintaining safety and quality standards.

May require 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

• Requires an enhanced degree of skills in proper mechanical and electrical assembly methods.
• Exercises good housekeeping in work area.
• Observes good safety practices in performance of job.

Necessary Skills:

• Requires ability to perform ordinary shop math, read and interpret witing diagrams, detailed drawing, and process work orders.
• Normal on the job training of one (1) year to have complete knowledge of all assemblies and wiring variables.
• Must have the ability to perform a sequence of operations where standard operational methods are available.
