Job summary

Nidec Corporation in Tennessee is seeking an assembly technician to join our manufacturing team. You will assemble fabricated parts into large subassemblies, test and calibrate to meet specs, and follow drawings and wiring diagrams.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and may require 0-2 years of related experience. With emphasis on safety, accuracy, and repeatable processes, you will handle heavy materials, operate equipment, and maintain good housekeeping while adhering to quality

Qualifications

• Able to perform basic shop math.
• Read wiring diagrams and drawings and process work orders.
• One year of on-the-job training to acquire complete knowledge of all assemblies and wiring variables.
• Perform sequence of operations using standard operational methods.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate product quality and adjust processes as needed.

Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and may require 0-2 years of experience in the field or related area.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Makes general decisions as to quality of products and adjusts as necessary.
• Lifts heavy materials and frequently works with medium weights.
• Requires continuous mental and visual attention; work is repetitive and requires constant alertness to detail.
• Complies with safety precautions to prevent lost‑time injury.
• Assembles revolving field cores following assembly drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Operates shaft press to specification.
• Requires enhanced skills in proper mechanical and electrical assembly methods.
• Maintains good housekeeping in the work area.
• Observes good safety practices while performing the job.

Required Skills

• Ability to perform ordinary shop math.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and detailed drawings, and process work orders.
• One year of on‑the‑job training to acquire complete knowledge of all assemblies and wiring variables.
• Perform a sequence of operations using standard operational methods.

Additional Details

High school diploma or GED required. May need apprenticeship or formal training in the specialty area. Immediate supervision is provided; independent judgment is not required.
