Job summary

Rittal LLC in Urbana, Ohio, is seeking an Assembler for the 2nd shift to build components per work instructions and blueprints. You will use hand and power tools, perform quality checks, and prepare products for shipment while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role requires the ability to read English diagrams, basic computer literacy, and teamwork. We offer a competitive base wage with a $1 shift differential for 2nd shift, and low-cost benefits begin after start.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or assembly is a plus.
• Familiarity with hand tools, measuring equipment, and basic mechanical skills.
• Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components and products according to work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete assembly tasks.
• Perform visual checks to ensure parts and assemblies meet quality standards.
• Package finished products and prepare them for shipment or further processing.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 6-S and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team meetings.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.

Primary Activities/Duties:

• Assemble components and products according to work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete assembly tasks.
• Perform visual checks to ensure parts and assemblies meet quality standards.
• Package finished products and prepare them for shipment or further processing.

Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently throughout the shift.
• Lift 25-50 pounds to waist level and up to 25 pounds above shoulder level.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing assignments.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and diagrams in English.
• Basic computer skills; ability to learn and use software systems as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Safety Requirements:

• Wear safety-toed footwear
• Safety glasses with side shields
• Hearing protection
• Other PPE as required.

Knowledge & Experience:
