Job summary

Generant is seeking a 2nd shift assembler in our Riverdale, NJ facility. The role involves assembling components from engineering drawings, testing with pressure, and accurate documentation. You’ll work with a team in a lab-like manufacturing setting and use tablets to update work orders.

Requirements include a high school diploma, basic math, ability to read diagrams and follow English instructions. ESOP, health benefits, and a 2nd shift M-F schedule are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills and ability to measure.
• Ability to interpret diagrams.
• Understand engineering concepts and units (pressure, length, flow rate).
• Proficient in reading/writing English for work instructions.
• Effective verbal communication in English with team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts using basic tools according to drawings.
• Test assembled parts using water, air or gas pressure.
• Visually inspect components during assembly.
• Engrave and/or package parts as needed.
• Maintain accurate counts of items assembled.
• Keep workspace clean, neat and organized.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Receive and update work orders via tablet.
• Perform other assignments from Assembly Manager.

Job Summary:

The primary function of the 2ND SHIFT Assembler is to assemble & test components into finished goods following engineering drawings and/or instruction from the Assembly Manager and Assistant Assembly Manager using various tools and fixtures.

Essential Functions:

• Assemble, parts using basic tools, in a timely manner
• Test assembled parts using water, air / gas pressure
• Visually inspect parts during assembly process
• Preforming duties such as engraving and or packaging
• Maintain accurate counts of items assembled
• Must be clean, neat and organized
• Must be exceptionally detail oriented
• Uses tablet system to receive & update work orders
• Maintain clean working environment
• Perform the job with minimal supervision
• Perform other assignments as required by the Assembly Manager and Assistant Assembly Manager

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education/Experience/Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic Math Skills (measuring, use of calculator)
• Must be able to interpret diagrams
• Ability to comprehend basic engineering concepts and units of measure (pressure, length, flow rate, etc.)
• Ability to read and comprehend work-related materials, instructions, and documentation written in English
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with team members, supervisors, and others
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions provided in English
• Ability to understand and complete verbal and written training materials presented in English

Physical Demands:

• Must frequently lift up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
• When performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger or handle or feel objects and tools or controls, must be able to see, talk and hear
• Specific vision abilities require close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms

Work Environment:

• Riverdale Assembler may work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to vibration
• Will work in a lab environment with engineering equipment and systems that can be dangerous if used improperly
• Noise level is usually moderate for a manufacturing plant
