Job summary

Generant is seeking a 2nd shift assembler in Riverdale, NJ. You will assemble and test components into finished goods per engineering drawings, using various tools and fixtures under supervision of the Assembly Manager.

The role requires reading engineering diagrams and English-language documentation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work on a team in a manufacturing environment. Expect 2nd shift from 4:00 PM–12:30 AM, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic math skills and ability to read diagrams.
• Able to follow English instructions and read technical docs.
• Able to communicate in English with team.
• Able to interpret engineering concepts and units.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test components into finished goods per drawings and instructions from Assembly Manager.
• Test parts using water, air/gas pressure.
• Visually inspect parts during assembly.
• Engraving and packaging duties as required.
• Use tablet system to receive and update work orders; maintain clean, organized work area.

Job Summary

The primary function of the 2ND SHIFT Assembler is to assemble & test components into finished goods following engineering drawings and/or instruction from the Assembly Manager and Assistant Assembly Manager using various tools and fixtures.

Essential Functions

• Assemble, parts using basic tools, in a timely manner
• Test assembled parts using water, air / gas pressure
• Visually inspect parts during assembly process
• Preforming duties such as engraving and or packaging
• Maintain accurate counts of items assembled
• Must be clean, neat and organized
• Must be exceptionally detail oriented
• Uses tablet system to receive & update work orders
• Maintain clean working environment
• Perform the job with minimal supervision
• Perform other assignments as required by the Assembly Manager and Assistant Assembly Manager

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic Math Skills (measuring, use of calculator)
• Must be able to interpret diagrams
• Ability to comprehend basic engineering concepts and units of measure (pressure, length, flow rate, etc.)
• Ability to read and comprehend work-related materials, instructions, and documentation written in English
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with team members, supervisors, and others
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions provided in English
• Ability to understand and complete verbal and written training materials presented in English

Physical Demands

• Must frequently lift up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
• When performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger or handle or feel objects and tools or controls, must be able to see, talk and hear
• Specific vision abilities require close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms

Work Environment

• Riverdale Assembler may work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to vibration
• Will work in a lab environment with engineering equipment and systems that can be dangerous if used improperly
• Noise level is usually moderate for a manufacturing plant
