Job summary

W.R. Case in Bradford, PA is seeking a production assembler for the 2nd shift (3 p.m. - 11 p.m.). You will assemble Case knives, adhere to safety and quality standards, and support maintenance and material handling tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of company Job/Safety Orientation. Physical duties include standing, lifting up to 35 pounds, and daily area cleanliness in a union shop setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble Case knives and perform the various required assembly skills.
• Maintain safe work area and adhere to safety procedures.
• Submit maintenance/tool and die requests to keep machines within specification and reduce scrap.
• Assemble, bracker, and spin all knife patterns as required.
• Move trays between stations and assist with handling as needed.
• Keep work area clean at end of shift and follow quality standards to prevent defects.
• Support Engineering/Quality departments as needed.

Job description

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Assuring work area is safe.
• Performing the various skills of assembling a Case knife.
• Employee must periodically fill out maintenance and/or tool & die requests to ensure all machines and fixtures are within specification to produce a quality knife and help eliminate/reduce scrap.
• Employee is required to assemble, bracker, and spin all patterns of knives.
• Employee is required at times to carry trays from the work station to the RS hafting rack and RHC racks.
• Employee at times may be required to get empty trays from other areas in the factory to take back to the assembly department.
• Employee is required to clean his or her work area daily at the end of the shift.
• Employee must maintain adherence to safety initiatives while working in his or her respective area in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Employee is required to follow all quality assurance specification to find/prevent any defects such as (chipped or cracked covers, unacceptable center spins, unacceptable brackering, rusty blades, or unacceptable walk & talk).
• Responsible for cleanliness of the work area during and upon his or her completion of jobs.
• Take instructions from supervisors.
• Assist Engineering/Quality departments as needed.

• Standing: As required by operation.

• Lifting: Minimal, up to 35 pounds. Lifting of trays containing knives, and other components.
• Pushing/Pulling: As required by operation.
• Visual Acuity: Normal and/or corrected vision for inspection of work /components.
• Hand Action: ability to pick up small pins and nails and put numerous parts together to make a knife.
