Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking an Assembler 2 in Lawrence, MA. The role partners with the Operations team to perform diverse mechanical assembly tasks and reports to the Operations Manager.

You will assemble products per instructions, follow sequence of operations, and maintain quality and production records while contributing to continuous improvement efforts and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of related assembly experience required.
• Experience following drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Able to read work instructions and operate testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex products, subassemblies and components per work instructions and drawings.
• Determine and follow methods and sequence of operations for component installation, welding and testing.
• Set up and adjust equipment to blueprint specifications while maintaining tolerances.
• Troubleshoot assembly issues using established procedures.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Train and mentor junior assemblers on methods, quality standards and safety.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As an Assembler 2 at MKS, Inc. you will partner with the Operations team to perform a wide variety of mechanical assembly operations. In this role, you will report to the Operations Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Assemble complex products, subassemblies, and components according to work instructions, drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

• Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing component installation, welding and testing units.

• Making set-ups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications

• May be responsible for testing equipment and products

• Running wash station to clean piece parts and assemblies

• Troubleshoot and resolve assembly, fit, form, and function issues using established procedures.

• Participate in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and 5S activities.

• Train and mentor Assembler I and Assembler II employees on assembly methods, quality standards, and safety procedures

• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.

Skills You Bring:

• 2-3 years of related experience required

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination

• Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 50 pounds

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 80% of the time

• Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level

• Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level

• Must be able to exchange accurate information

• Operates in a professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing environment

• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery

• Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat

• Noise level in the work environment is usually average

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range: $16.70 - 27.83 USD Hourly. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus:

This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
