Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation in the United States is seeking an assembler to join our production team. You will assemble fabricated parts into large subassemblies and complete units, and you will test and calibrate components to meet tolerances and specifications.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with 0–2 years of related experience and on-the-job training may be provided. You will follow assembly drawings and wiring diagrams, operate a shaft press, and apply mechanical and electrical

  • Complies with safety precautions to prevent injuries.
  • Assembles revolving field cores per drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Operates shaft press to specification.
  • Applies mechanical and electrical assembly skills.
  • Maintains good housekeeping and safety in the work area.

Job Summary

Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. May require 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Duties & Responsibilities Information:

  • Requires continuous mental and visual attention where the work repetitive and requires constant alertness to detail.
  • Compliance with safety precautions necessary to prevent lost time injury to others.
  • Assembles revolving field cores, following assembly drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Operates shaft press to specification.
  • Requires an enhanced degree of skills in proper mechanical and electrical assembly methods.
  • Exercises good housekeeping in work area.
  • Observes good safety practices in performance of job.
Necessary Skills:
  • Requires ability to perform ordinary shop math, read and interpret witing diagrams, detailed drawing, and process work orders.
  • Normal on the job training of one (1) year to have complete knowledge of all assemblies and wiring variables.
  • Must have the ability to perform a sequence of operations where standard operational methods are available.
