Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of mechanical assembly experience or 2 years in precision manufacturing.
• Experience using precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
• Ability to read and interpret written instructions and blueprints.
• Must be able to recognize cosmetic and functional defects.
• Familiarity with adhesives and assembly processes.
• English literacy required.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assembly Operator I to join our manufacturing team. This position plays a critical role in producing high-quality components and assemblies that meet customer and company requirements.

Position Summary

The Assembler I safely and effectively assembles component parts using mechanical fasteners and bonding agents in accordance with documented work instructions, blueprints, manufacturing operation travelers (MOTs), and specifications. The role utilizes hand tools, fixtures, jigs, and pneumatic presses while ensuring products meet quality requirements. At this level, the operator can set up and process work orders with assistance and supports operational excellence through continuous improvement in quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate assembly equipment and tools at all times.
• Follow company 5S standards and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Set up and run jobs with assistance, ensuring controlled and repeatable processes.
• Follow company and department procedures, work instructions, and process specifications.
• Assemble products using hand tools, fixtures, adhesives, and other approved methods.
• Perform and document in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
• Visually inspect components and final assemblies for functional and cosmetic defects.
• Ensure primers and adhesives are used within shelf-life requirements.
• Clean, package, and handle parts to prevent damage.
• Record labor hours, quantities, and production data in the company tracking system.
• Complete routers, inspection travelers, and related production documentation accurately.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and functioning as expected.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist other departments as needed.

Qualifications

Required Experience :

• Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical assembly, or 2 years of experience in precision manufacturing.
• Experience using precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to recognize cosmetic and functional defects.
• Familiarity with adhesives and assembly processes.
• Must be able to comprehend, read, and write English.
• Strong attention to detail.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, perform repetitive motions, use hand tools, lift up to 25 pounds, and wear required PPE.
