Job summary

Alamo Group Inc. is seeking an assembly technician to assemble machinery using hand and power tools, fixtures, and test equipment. You will follow detailed instructions, ensure quality standards, and maintain a clean work area on the production floor.

Key tasks include reading prints, taking measurements, and performing troubleshooting as needed to improve efficiency, speed, and overall product quality. This is an on-site manufacturing role focusing on precise assembly procedures.

Qualifications

• Basic ability to read and interpret design techniques, blueprints, drawings and models.
• Perform simple arithmetic including fractions and decimals.
• Able to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
• Read basic prints/schematics.
• Read and use tape measure, ruler and square to fit parts.
• Adhere to safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines.
• Report quality or process problems to supervisor.

Using a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, work instructions and test equipment to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble machinery.

Essential Functions Of The Job

• Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures
• Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements to meet Quality Standards
• Proficient use of equipment required by the job function
• Adhere to safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines
• Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Production Supervisor
• Assemble equipment for final operation
• Perform troubleshooting as required
• Explores methods of improving efficiency, speed, and quality of work being done
• Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities (KSA’s)

• Basic knowledge and understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production or precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
• Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers in addition to understanding fractions and decimals).
• Possess the ability to read and understand both written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to read basic prints/schematics.
• Must be able to read and use tape measure, rule and square to fit parts and assemblies.
