Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ability to use tools and machines such as clamps and presses.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition.
  • High school diploma required; technical schooling preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied temperatures.

Job description

ND Defense is looking for qualified assemblers. This position connects parts into more complex components and ensures all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product.

Responsibilities
  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process.
  • Take precision measurements to ensure a perfect fit of components.
  • Select or modify components according to measurements and specifications.
  • Align material and put together parts to build more complex units.
  • Check output to ensure highest quality.
  • Maintain equipment in good condition.
  • Keep records of production quantities and time.
  • Report on issues, malfunction or defective parts.
  • Operate overhead cranes and hand tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have good technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics, etc., and follow them with precision in order to produce complex outputs by putting together smaller components.
  • Proven experience as assembler in automotive or mechanical settings.
  • Ability to use tools (e.g., clamps) and machines (e.g., presses).
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition.
  • High school diploma generally required; a higher degree from a technical school preferred.
  • Essential Functions include but are not limited to: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, work in extreme cold and hot temperatures, squat, kneel, push, pull, and stand for long periods of time.
