Job summary

Rural King Farm and Home Store is hiring for an assembly-focused associate at our New York location. You will assemble grills, furniture, lawn and farm equipment, and assist with merchandise displays while maintaining a safe, clean store environment.

This is physical, non-office work requiring independent work, direction-following, and ability to operate basic retail equipment. Training and onboarding may be completed remotely or in-store as needed.

Qualifications

• Mechanical abilities and manual dexterity required.
• Fast learner with ability to follow instructions.
• Good communication with team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be capable of working independently.
• Ability to use in-store computer systems.
• Experience with online onboarding processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble all types of products sold at Rural King store locations.
• Cross train to assist in other areas as needed including Maintenance, Shop, Receiving, etc.
• Maintain a safe and clean atmosphere while assisting customers and co-workers.
• This is physical work and requires following directions and working independently.
• Operate machinery such as forklift, pallet jack, Telxon gun and other retail equipment.
• May cross-train and perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll do
Assemble all types of products sold at store locations. Cross train to assist in other areas as needed including Maintenance, Shop, Receiving, etc. You’ll work to maintain a safe and clean atmosphere while providing assistance to customers and co-workers. This is physical work (not an office job) so come prepared! Must be able to follow directions and work independently.

• Assemble retail merchandise such as grills, furniture, lawn equipment, farm equipment
• Assemble and assist with merchandise displays
• Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer
• Operate machinery such as a forklift, pallet jack, Telxon gun and other retail equipment
• May be required to cross train and perform other duties

• Ability to access and use the in-store computer, scanning system, and wireless hand-held unit
• Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
• Ability to complete computer-based training
