Job summary

Rural King Farm and Home Store is seeking a hands-on associate to assemble retail merchandise such as grills, furniture and lawn equipment, and to assist in displays. You will help maintain a safe, clean store environment and provide support to customers and teammates in a physical, office-light setting.

The role involves working with various departments, potential cross-training, and physical tasks like lifting up to 30 pounds and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• Mechanical abilities and the ability to assemble a range of products.
• Ability to learn quickly and follow written or verbal instructions.
• Comfort with working in a fast-paced, team-based retail environment.
• Ability to work independently when required and complete training modules.

Responsibilities

• Assemble all types of products sold at store locations including grills, furniture and lawn equipment.
• Assist with merchandise displays and maintain safety and cleanliness practices.
• Operate general office and retail equipment as needed (telephone, copy machine, calculator).
• Cross train in Maintenance, Shop, Receiving and other areas as needed.

Responsibilities

What You’ll do

Assemble all types of products sold at store locations. Cross train to assist in other areas as needed including Maintenance, Shop, Receiving, etc. You’ll work to maintain a safe and clean atmosphere while providing assistance to customers and co-workers. This is physical work (not an office job) so come prepared! Must be able to follow directions and work independently.

• Assemble retail merchandise such as grills, furniture, lawn equipment, farm equipment
• Assemble and assist with merchandise displays
• Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer
• Operate machinery such as a forklift, pallet jack, Telxon gun and other retail equipment
• May be required to cross train and perform other duties

• Mechanical abilities and experience
• Quick learner
• Able to follow assembly instructions
• Ability to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Ability to access and use the in-store computer, scanning system, and wireless hand-held unit
• Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
• Ability to complete computer-based training

Physical Requirements

• Good visual acuity
• Ability to repetitively lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds
• Ability to communicate effectively to all audiences
• Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack

• Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
