Gowanda Electronics is seeking an Assembler I to join our Gowanda BTI team in Arcade, NY. The role focuses on basic mechanical and electronic assembly of magnetic and electronic components in a fast-paced production setting.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, dependable, and eager to learn and grow within a manufacturing environment. Training on work instructions, safety, and quality procedures will be provided; the position requires adherence to 5S/ESD standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic mechanical or electronic assembly using standard hand tools, jigs, and fixtures.
• Follow detailed work instructions, routers, and visual aids for routine assembly processes.
• Complete tasks such as wire stripping, lead trimming, simple soldering, coil winding, potting, encapsulation, and labeling.
• Conduct basic inspections using calipers, micrometers, magnifiers, multimeters, or other standard measurement tools.
• Assist with basic functional testing using standardized fixtures and record results accurately.
• Identify and report defects, documentation, inaccuracies, or equipment concerns.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area following 5S, ESD controls, and all safety protocols.
• Support material handling, inventory tracking, and simple equipment setup as required.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability.

We currently have an opening for Assembler I in our Gowanda BTI, located in Arcade, NY. This position is critical to the success of our manufacturing operations and will support the assembly and production of magnetic and electronic components. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, dependable, and eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced production environment.

Details of the Role: The position of Assembler I will be responsible for performing basic assembly, fabrication, and inspection of electronic components and subassemblies. This role follows established work instructions, safety standards, and quality procedures to ensure consistent, reliable, and high-quality product output. Work is performed under close supervision with continuous skill development.

• Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability. Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work with adhesives, epoxy, solder, and production machinery.
