Job summary

LSI Staffing in Hesston, KS is seeking an industrial associate to prepare metal parts for powder coating. You will clean, sand, mask, and inspect surfaces, remove contaminants, and hang parts on racks for coating.

You will inspect for defects, mask areas, assist with unloading painted parts, and maintain a clean, safe work area while following all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal parts and products for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, masking, and inspecting surfaces.
• Remove oils, dirt, rust, and other contaminants to ensure proper paint adhesion.
• Hang or position parts on racks or conveyors for the powder coating process.
• Inspect parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards before painting.
• Mask or tape areas that should not be coated.
• Assist with unloading painted parts and perform light assembly tasks as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies related to equipment and materials.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding production needs or quality concerns.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Continuously operating machinery with buttons, levers, and switches.
• Lifting parts above the shoulder and requiring 80 pounds of force to initiate movement.
• Standing, Twisting, Walking – frequently
• Continuous standing and walking on concrete surfaces
