Job summary

Alamo Group is seeking an assembler to perform a series of operations assembling machinery using hand and power tools, fixtures and test equipment. You will follow detailed instructions, comply with quality and safety policies, and report any issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Read basic prints/schematics and use measurement tools accurately.

  • Perform basic math including fractions and decimals as part of assembly.

  • Adhere to safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines.

Using a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, work instructions and test equipment to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble machinery.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures
  • Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements to meet Quality Standards
  • Proficient use of equipment required by the job function
  • Adhere to safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Production Supervisor
  • Assemble equipment for final operation
  • Perform troubleshooting as required
  • Explores methods of improving efficiency, speed, and quality of work being done
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of design techniques, tools, and princip les involved in production or precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
  • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers in addition to understanding fractions and decimals).
  • Possess the ability to read and understand both written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to read basic prints/schematics.
  • Must be able to read and use tape measure, rule and square to fit parts and assemblies .
  • Adhere to safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Group Lead/Supervisor
  • Assemble equipment for final operation
  • Perform troubleshooting as required
  • Explores methods of improving efficiency, speed, and quality of work being done
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions
