Job summary

A Hiring Company in Minnesota seeks an assembler to participate in line setup, read blueprints, and assemble components using hand tools, hoists, and power tools. You will work safely to meet daily production goals.

You will verify specifications by measuring parts, maintain equipment, and document production activities. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required; candidates should work well alone or in a team.

Qualifications

  • Must follow safety and quality guidelines.
  • Familiar with basic computer software for documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Positions or aligns components and parts, manually or with hoists.
  • Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
  • Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.
  • Prepares work by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.

Job description

Participate in line setup. Ensure machines are operating effectively and efficiently and that production needs are met through daily production efforts.. Perform work that is within safety and quality guidelines.

Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate a forklift with previous experience.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good understanding of material properties and machining techniques.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality control.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software for documentation.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use overhead hoist.
