Job summary

ABB in New Jersey is seeking a Production Operator to assemble, test, and inspect medium and high voltage electrical vacuum switches in the MVR department.

You will work from production drawings and wire diagrams, document processes, and help train teammates while upholding 5S and safety practices. This role requires basic mechanical/electrical skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to lift 40+ lbs and stand for 8 hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Basic mechanical, electrical, and hand-tool knowledge.
• Basic computer skills.
• Positive, energetic attitude; willingness for cross-training and overtime.
• Ability to lift 40+ lbs and stand for 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, build and test medium and high voltage electrical vacuum switches using standard tools and equipment in the MVR department.
• Interpret production drawings, wire schematics, BOMs, and wire diagrams.
• Access drawings and files via internal systems; document and report non-conformances.
• Mentor/train other team members as needed.
• Maintain 5S and safety practices, including PPE usage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
