You will read engineering prints, perform bench assembly, calibrations, and final inspections, while adhering to safety and quality standards. Starting pay ranges per level are Level II at $17.93/hour and Level III at $19.52/hour, with a transparent range up to $22.01/hour.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Level III–IV preferred.
  • Experience in assembly/manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read engineering prints and use inspection tools.
  • Calibrations and final inspections experience valued for Level III.

Flexible Assembler (Levels II- III)

Pay Range Per Level

Level II Starting Rate: $17.93

Level III Starting Rate: $19.52

Core Responsibilities (All Levels)
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Follow shop safety procedures and use required safety equipment.
  • Work from engineering prints, specifications, samples, or written/verbal instructions.
  • Record production and quality information accurately.
  • Meet established production, quality, and scheduling standards.
Flexible Assembler II – Grade Level 2
Skilled Assembly & Production Operations
  • Perform bench assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical products using hand tools, soldering equipment, test equipment, and shop machinery (turning, milling, drilling, threading, shearing, spot welding, pressing).
  • Assemble products to customer and company specifications in individual or production-run quantities.
  • Read and interpret engineering prints.
  • Perform measurement inspections using calipers, micrometers, thread gages, and plug gages.
  • Conduct product calibrations using standardized instruments (flow meters, pressure gages, volt/ohm meters, calibration stands).
  • Assist in sub-assemblies, inspection, warehouse, machining, cleaning, testing, and packing operations.
  • Perform basic computer data entry and simple chart/graph analysis for productivity and quality tracking.
  • Care for and maintain tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment.

Focus: Increased independence, technical proficiency, and quality accountability.

Flexible Assembler III – Grade Level 3
Advanced Assembly, Calibration & Quality Assurance
  • Perform complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly operations.
  • Conduct advanced calibrations and ensure products meet established performance standards.
  • Perform all final tests and inspections to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Work independently from written or verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Exercise judgment in resolving assembly or quality issues.
  • Cross-train and assist co-workers across assembly, machining, inspection, and testing functions.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts through data tracking and performance analysis.

Focus: Technical expertise, final product accountability, mentoring, and quality ownership.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent required (preferred for Levels III–IV).
  • Some college or equivalent experience desired for Level IV.
Experience & Skill Requirements By Level
Level II
  • Experience in assembly and/or machining operations.
  • Ability to read engineering prints.
  • Experience using hand tools and inspection equipment.
Level III
  • Advanced knowledge of assembly, machining, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to work independently and follow complex instructions.
  • Experience performing calibrations and final inspections.
