Job summary

Randstad USA in Bristol, CT is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Assembler to build small, custom switches and sensors for industrial and aerospace equipment. You will work hands-on with hand tools and perform soldering and assembly from engineering blueprints.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, at a pay rate of $22.00 - $24.00 per hour. Prior hands-on experience and good manual dexterity are required; safety and quality matter in every step.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in assembly, mechanical work, soldering, or manufacturing.
• Strong manual dexterity with small parts and tools.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Assemble miniature, precision mechanical and electrical parts according to blueprints and shop orders.
• Cut, strip, crimp, and solder fine-gauge wires to switch bodies with proper calibration and ESD adherence.
• Conduct preliminary and final testing using multimeters, gauges, and calibration rigs to ensure precise actuation.
• Apply sealants, adhesives, and hermetic potting materials to protect sensors in harsh environments.
• Perform visual and functional inspections to detect defects before final packaging.
• Log completed shop orders with handheld scanners or ERP software and manage sub-assembly inventory.

Mechanical & Electrical Assembler

Location: Bristol, CT

A great manufacturing company in Bristol, CT is looking for an experienced Assembler! You will build small, custom switches and sensors used in industrial and aerospace equipment. What You'll Do

• Put together small mechanical parts and wiring using simple assembly drawings.
• Solder wires and attach small electrical connectors.
• Test products using basic gauges and tools to make sure they work properly.
• Apply protective sealants and inspect your work for good quality.

What We’re Looking For

• Required: Prior hands-on experience in assembly, mechanical work, soldering, or manufacturing.
• Good manual dexterity (comfortable working with small parts and tools).
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Assemble miniature, precision mechanical and electrical parts - including stainless steel bodies, diaphragms, switch blocks, and fittings - according to engineering blueprints, schematics, and shop orders.
• Cut, strip, crimp, and solder fine-gauge wires and electrical connectors to switch bodies, ensuring proper calibration and adherence to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) standards.
• Conduct preliminary and final testing using multimeters, pressure gauges, and calibration rigs to ensure switches actuate precisely within designated pressure/vacuum ranges.
• Apply specialized sealants, adhesives, and hermetic potting materials (such as weatherproofing compounds and environmental seals) to protect sensors used in harsh military and industrial environments.
• Perform visual and functional first-piece and in-process inspections to detect material defects, incorrect tolerances, or assembly errors prior to final packaging.
• Use hand-held scanners or ERP software to log completed shop orders, pull sub-assembly inventory, and report daily production metrics.
• Maintain an organized bench area, strictly follow PPE regulations, and safely operate hand tools, wire strippers, and pneumatic press equipment.
