Job summary

FormFactor, Inc. in Beaverton, Oregon, is seeking an Assembler to perform precision assembly of complex electronic and electro‑mechanical systems. The role includes laser cutting, membrane assembly, UV curing, and meticulous measurement and testing of build specs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate laser-cutting equipment per procedures to cut and extract polymer membranes and components for assembly or evaluation.
  • Assemble polymer membranes onto electronic probe components, including membrane attachment and UV curing and managing cure times.
  • Perform mechanical attachment of miniature/components using screw fasteners, adhesives, and precision alignment tools.
  • Prioritize assembly tasks to maximize throughput based on build requirements, cure times, and production due dates.
  • Read, interpret, and follow assembly documentation (BOMs, schematics, diagrams, work instructions).
  • Perform simple mathematical calculations, including tolerance stack-ups, to evaluate fit and performance.
  • Assemble microscopic parts and components using jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and microscopes.
  • Set up and perform testing to validate build specifications and assembly accuracy.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze SPC data to monitor and improve process stability and yield.
  • Set up and operate specialized assembly and curing equipment per procedures.
  • Safely handle chemicals—including adhesives and solvents—while following safety rules and PPE.

Job Overview

FormFactor, Inc. (NASDAQ: FORM) is a leading provider of essential test and measurement technologies along the full semiconductor product life cycle. The Assembler is responsible for the precision assembly of complex electronic and electro‑mechanical systems.

Shift

The regular hours for this position are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 5:00am to 5:30pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate laser‑cutting equipment per documented procedures to cut and extract polymer membranes and components for assembly or engineering evaluation.
  • Assemble polymer membranes onto electronic probe components, including membrane attachment, clamping into proprietary fixtures, UV curing, and managing cure times.
  • Perform mechanical attachment of miniature, mixed‑material components using screw fasteners, adhesives, and precision alignment tools.
  • Perform all technical duties of an Assembly TechnicianII when required.
  • Prioritize assembly tasks to maximize throughput based on build requirements, cure times, and production due dates.
  • Read, interpret, and follow assembly documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), schematics, diagrams, and written work instructions.
  • Perform simple mathematical calculations, including tolerance stack‑ups, to evaluate component fit and performance.
  • Assemble microscopic parts and components using specialized jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and microscopes.
  • Set up and perform testing to validate build specifications and confirm assembly accuracy.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze Statistical Process Control (SPC) data to monitor and improve process stability and yield.
  • Set up and operate specialized assembly and curing equipment in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Safely handle chemicals—including adhesives and solvents—while following all safety rules, PPE requirements, and material‑handling practices.

Pay Range

This role in Beaverton, Oregon pays between $18.80 and $24.68 per hour, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations.
