Job summary

FAST Global Solutions in Auburn, NE is seeking an Assembler for the Day Shift (Mon-Thu, 6:00 am–4:30 pm). This role involves reading blueprints, assembling machines and sub-assemblies, and using a variety of hand and power tools. A sign-on bonus of $2,500 is offered.

You will work on a fast-paced manufacturing line, follow safety procedures, and ensure parts fit with high precision. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or 1–3 months related experience.
• Able to stand and walk for a 10-hour shift.
• Able to lift/pull/push up to 50 lbs and maintain a firm grasp.
• Must have basic language and math skills and good reasoning.
• Must pass a physical strength test and wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and assembly drawings to determine requirements.
• Remove small amounts of metal to clean parts and ensure close fits.
• Plan assembly procedures and drill/tap/ream holes as needed.
• Align components and fasten with screws, rivets, or bolts.
• Install moving parts and test free movement of assemblies.
• Align and mesh gears in gearboxes for proper operation.
• Test completed products and prepare parts for shipping.

Job summary:

This position assembles machines, equipment, and their sub-assemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications. The assembler will use various types of hand and power tools.

Job duties and responsibilities:

• Reads and interprets blueprints and assembly drawings to determine specific assembly requirements.
• Removes small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts.
• Plans assembly procedures, following specifications.
• Drills, taps, or reams holes.
• Aligns components and bolts, screws, or rivets them together.
• Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test free movement.
• Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears.
• Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.
• Prepares parts for shipping into containers, bands items to pallets and performs other packaging as required.

Job Requirements:

• A qualified candidate will have a high school diploma, GED, or at least 1-3 months related experience.
• Must have basic language and math skills and reasoning ability.
• Must be able to stand and walk continuously and sit/reach/bend frequently over the course of a 10 hour shift.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must have manual dexterity and be able to maintain a frequent firm grasp.
• Must be able to operate a foot pedal for machine operation.
• Must be able to pass a physical strength test to perform the job.
• Color vision with depth perception is required.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and levels of humidity.
• Personal protective equipment will be provided by FAST and must be worn in the required areas.
