Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; post-secondary coursework in accounting/finance preferred.
• 3 years of related experience in accounting or bookkeeping; mining or industrial experience is an asset.
• Attention to detail, strong numeracy, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, general ledger, and accounting software.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical conduct with sensitive records.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and subsidiary journals for site operations.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensure timely payments to suppliers and prompt collection of receivables.
• Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy prior to posting.
• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations to maintain data integrity.
• Assist with payroll processing and calculation of pay cheques and deductions.
• Compile and distribute reports such as cost analyses, statements, invoices, and regulatory documentation.
• Support audits by providing documentation and resolving discrepancies.
• Implement internal controls and monitor compliance to protect company assets.
• Assist with maintaining and updating accounting software or ERP systems as required.
