Applitrack in Dodge City Public Schools is seeking an Apprentice Teacher to support a lead educator. The role pays $18.50 per hour, approx 7 hours daily, for 185 days, and is non-exempt.

Responsibilities include classroom prep, student support, grading, lesson planning, and collaboration with the lead teacher. A high school diploma is required, with some college coursework preferred, and enrollment in a KSDE-approved teacher preparation program.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education preferred.
• Enrolled concurrently in a KSDE approved Teacher Preparation Program at a Kansas University/College.

Responsabilidades

• Classroom support: assist the lead teacher with materials, setup, and learning environment.
• Student support: monitor behavior and assist during activities and transitions.
• Instructional assistance: help deliver lessons and provide one-on-one or small-group support.
• Grading and assessment: assist with grading and provide feedback.
• Lesson planning: collaborate to develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum.
• Classroom management: support routines and foster a positive, inclusive environment.
• Professional development: participate in workshops and training to enhance teaching skills.
• Communication: maintain contact with students, parents, and staff; report progress.
• Administrative tasks: assist with attendance, record-keeping, and portfolios.
• Professional conduct: maintain ethics and confidentiality; follow district policies.
• Other duties as assigned by the principal.
