Job summary

The Berg Group is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our Texas operations. This role focuses on supporting field teams, coordinating with foremen, and helping drive project progress on commercial drywall projects.

Travel up to 50% is required as we work across our markets; ideal candidates will have construction experience, strong communication, and leadership abilities to develop toward a Superintendent role within 1–2 years.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in the construction industry; field experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and related software.
• Ability to lead project coordination and multitask.
• Knowledge of CAL OSHA policies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in preconstruction meetings with Foreman and Project Team.
• Identify and resolve risks on site (lifts, tying off, etc.).
• Coordinate with Project Manager to resolve bid production discrepancies.
• Walk projects with field teams to understand scope.
• Oversee Foreman; manage budget, material purchasing and manpower.
• Safety audits with onsite teams and coordination with Safety.
• Maintain knowledge of field management tools (Mosaic/Plexxis, Paycom).
