Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers seeks a Structural Engineer in Training to join our Sacramento, CA team. You will design, analyze, and oversee structural systems across commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects, collaborating with architects, contractors, and project managers to deliver safe, code-compliant solutions.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Engineering, EIT, and active PE progression. Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, and SAP2000 is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• EIT certification is required.
• PE certification obtained or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Conduct site assessments to identify structural requirements and challenges.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors for project coordination.
• Review construction documents and submittals for structural compliance.
• Provide technical support during construction and resolve on-site issues.
• Promote cost-effective, sustainable, and constructible designs.
• Keep project files organized and audit-ready.
• Stay updated on building codes and engineering best practices.
