Job summary

McElroy Metal is seeking a Service Center Manager Trainee to join our Midwest locations. This entry-level management role supports operations under supervision, gaining knowledge and experience for potential advancement into management positions.

The position involves coordinating workloads, traveling to other centers, driving sales, assisting customers, processing orders, and managing inventory while supporting a growing metal components business.

Qualifications

• Strong basic math skills.
• Experience supervising office and production employees.
• Sales/customer service experience in metal components and/or roofing products.
• Ability to travel and work independently.
• Experience with inventory control, invoicing records, computer transactions, cash deposits, and material estimates.
• Ability to handle materials and material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workload with employees to efficiently use the workforce.
• Travel to other Service Center locations possibly for weeks at a time.
• Solicit customers to increase Service Center’s sales.
• Assist customers in selecting products and write orders for needed items; arrange delivery.
• Enter orders into computer; invoice orders after shipment.
• Keep inventory records current and place orders to replenish stock.
• Complete daily sales summary and deposit cash receipts.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Assist in creating and estimating material lists for customers.
