Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Respiratory Therapy.
• No experience required.
• BLS certification required by AHA.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist, perform routine basic respiratory therapy procedures including oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, aerosol therapy and incentive spirometry.
• Organize and maintain supply of respiratory therapy equipment and supplies according to department standards.
• Collect, clean, and reassemble equipment; follow infection prevention guidelines.
• Complete annual hospital competencies and learn new equipment, procedures, and processes.
• Assist with patient positioning and transporting tasks as needed, using proper technique.
• Provide age-appropriate care and follow departmental policies for patient care.
