Uncommon Schools seeks Principal Fellows to train and develop for eventual Principal roles. Fellows will co-lead a school with an Uncommon Director of Operations and be supported by program leadership. This full-time role emphasizes instructional leadership, teacher development, and school improvement.

The fellowship blends classroom immersion with mastery of leadership competencies and a structured professional development path, including monthly cross-regional sessions and cohort workshops.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience with evidence of student growth.
• At least 1 year coaching, leading, and/or managing teachers.
• Experience teaching core subjects (Math, ELA, Science, History) is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Co-lead a school alongside an Uncommon Director of Operations during the Fellowship and transition to Principal.
• Engage in feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities to improve leadership capacity.
• Plan and execute instructional leadership, teacher development, school culture, and family engagement.
