Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; currently in good standing in a Registered Nurse academic program.
• Minimum completion of first semester of RN academic program preferred.
• Current listing with the applicable state Nurse Aide I Registry prior to start date required.
• BLS required per policy.
• Nurse Aide I+4 Course required: E-learning and instructor-led skills practice.
• Observation activities required, with RN validation before independent practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Take vital signs and height/weight measurements.
• Feed and assist with ambulation according to procedures.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient/resident rooms.
• Observe and report changes in patient conditions.
• Orient patients and families to unit and safety procedures.
• Assist with clerical work and maintain medical records.
• Maintain stock of supplies and participate in inventory.
• Perform Nurse Aide I tasks and related duties per state Board of Nursing.
• Perform ECG and routine venipuncture under training as per state requirements.
