Job summary

Adventist Health Castle in Kailua, HI offers an 8-week Medical Assistant Training Program that combines classroom and online curriculum, simulation for skills practice, and on-the-job training at our clinic sites. The program prepares applicants to take the Medical Assistant Certification test upon completion and preceptorship hours.

Participants will receive a certificate of professional development from Windward Community College and transition into a Medical Assistant role at Adventist Health

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
• Program prepares participants to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in all educational components of the training program
• Assists instructors and preceptors to develop skills and competencies related to the Medical Assisting role
• Sets up exam rooms and maintains a patient recall system for lab tests, referrals, and transfers
• Obtains vital signs and reports findings to the clinic physician; performs venipunctures as ordered
• Performs audiometry and vision testing
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
